A Colombian drug baron, Leonidas Vargas, 60, was shot in a hospital of Madrid. He was transferred to a hospital with lung disease, after he was convicted of drug traffic and sentenced to 19 years in prison in Spain. The man had links to big cartels.
Vargas with fake Venezuelan passport had worked with notorious drug lords. When the man was arrested in Madrid, he possessed 500kg of cocaine in July of 2006. Only a person entered his room, firing four shots, the police said.
